Simili ma unici. Una serie completa per tutta la casa. 

I colori tenui del verde salvia, del grigio azzurro e del sole radente invadono ogni stanza della casa. 

Un gruppo di 10 dipinti simili ma unici, un fil rouge che uniforma e differenzia i singoli ambienti.

Ecco come la mia ultima serie di acquerelli Studio N°1 viene ospitata nell’ingresso, in soggiorno, in studio, in cucina e in bagno. 

Similar but different. A complete series for each room. 

Soft colors such as sage green, grayish blue and sunbeam yellow flow through the whole house.

A group of 10 similar but unique paintings form a fil rouge distinguishing different spaces.

My latest series of watercolour paintings Study N°1 is displayed in the entrance, living room, study, kitchen and bathroom.

Spesso chi viene in studio a scegliere un’opera da regalare a se stesso o agli amici si pone il problema di come incorniciarla e dove appenderla.

Ecco qualche idea che ho raccolto su internet, in questo caso dal sito di ElleDecor.

Cominciamo con l’effetto di massa.

a.        Ecco come trasformare un corridoio in una galleria, incorniciando opere dello stesso tipo, in questo caso si tratta di foto di famiglia in bianco e nero, tutte con la stessa cornice rosso lacca.

b.       Due disegni su carta pieghettata dell’artista Gary Stephens per creare un angolo geometrico in simmetria con il divano.

c.        Bellissimi i 26 studi colore di Günther Förg disposti in blocchi geometrici in un ambiente dai colori molto chiari.

d.       In questo caso le opere sono tutte stampe antiche raffiguranti uccelli, incorniciate con cornici di bambù di dimensioni diverse e sfalsate tra loro.

e.       Le stampe antiche hanno come soggetto dei busti, sono incorniciate con cornici nere di dimensioni diverse che arrivano fino al soffitto.

f.         I muri sono dipinti con un color pavone lucido e intenso, che fa da sfondo ad una collezione eclettica di opere d’arte, tutte con soggetti e cornici diverse.

Since I’ve noticed that those who come and visit me in my studio often ask me for an advice about displaying artworks before buying a work of art for themselves or to give as a present to friends,  I looked up for some ideas on the internet, in this case from ElleDecor’s website.

Let’s start with a mass effect.

a.       How to transform a hallway into a gallery, with a display of disparate black-and-white family photographs unified by red frames.

b.       A pair of pleated-paper drawings by Gary Stephens so they abut in a corner and echo the configuration of the sectional sofa.

c.        Beautiful collection grouping 26 color studies by Günther Förg into blocks that fit within the room's traditional molding.

d.       Antique bird prints, in matching bamboo frames, are arranged throughout the double-height games room.

e.        Ancient prints with old portraits, all framed in black and reaching the top of the ceiling.

f.         The library's glossy walls, painted in Farrow & Ball's Off-Black, serve as a striking backdrop for an eclectically framed mix of artwork.

alcuni dicono che si deve stare attenti quando si naviga su internet, perché non si sa mai chi si può incontrare, e assicurano che sia pericoloso là fuori. questa non è stata la mia esperienza fino ad ora e voglio cominciare questo anno di blogging con un post dedicato ad una persona incredibilmente gentile e interessante che ho incontrato su internet.

Ho conosciuto charlotte cleverley per caso, e mai incontro casuale avrebbe potuto essere più piacevole. Sono capitata per caso su un suo post molto lusinghiero sul mio negozio online su etsy

e le ho scritto per ringraziarla. La conversazione era così interessante che ci siamo mantenute in contatto e ci siamo conosciute meglio. e così ho scoperto che charlotte è una donna piena di sorprese.

charlotte cleverley è americana ma vive in europa, e ha creato un bel blog che si chiamacleverley reviewed che esprime chiaramente la passione della sua vita. Il design! charlotte è capace di scovare e recensire ogni designer interessante si trovi in europa e negli stati uniti, così se condividete la stessa passione fate in modo di dare un’occhiata regolarmente al suo blog!

ho ottenuto anche informazioni private che non pubblicherò qui, come che charlotte è un’eccellente designer di mobili moderni, che ha creato tavoli, sedie, cassettoni e molti altri mobili. il suo stile è semplice ma elegante, contemporaneo ma senza tempo e anche se a questo punto sarete curiosi di vedere il suo lavoro temo di dovervi deludere e postporre questo incontro perché al momento charlotte stà dedicando la sua totale attenzione alla creazione più importante della sua vita, suo figlio!

così auguro con tutto il cuore un meraviglioso 2012 a charlotte e al suo blog cleverleyreviewed, che non dorme mai e non usa mai una maiuscola.

some people say you have to be careful surfing the internet because one never knows who’s going to meet, and assure it can be dangerous out there. this is not my experience so far and i want to begin this blogging year with a post dedicated to a wonderfully nice person i met on the internet.

i found charlotte cleverley by chance, and never a chance encounter could be more pleasant. i happened upon a flattering blog post she wrote about my etsy shop and wrote her back to thank her. the conversation was so nice that we kept in touch and got to know each other better. this is how I discovered charlotte is really full of surprises.

charlotte lives in europe but is american, and she has created a lovely blog called cleverley reviewed clearly expressing the passion of her life: desing! she would really hunt out and write about any interesting designer both in europe and in the states, so if you share the same love make sure you check her blog out regularly!

i also got private information I will not publish here, like that charlotte is a wonderful modern furniture designer, has created a lot of fantastic pieces of furniture like tables, chairs, chest of drawers and many others. her style is simple but elegant, contemporary but timeless and even though at this point i am sure you will be curious to see her work i’m afraid i will have to delude you and postpone this encounter because she’s now giving her full attention to the most important creation of her life, her son!
